The Santa Cruz County Disaster Fund is dedicated to supporting residents impacted by floods, wildfires, earthquakes, mudslides, debris flows, and other disasters in Santa Cruz County and the Pajaro Valley. Donations to this fund will be disbursed as grants to trusted local nonprofit organizations working on the front lines of disaster response, recovery, and rebuilding efforts. Your support will help benefit those most affected and offer ready resources to organizations responding to local needs.
This fund has been activated to support local nonprofits responding to the atmospheric river storm and floods of January and March of 2023 including the levee breach and flooding in the Pajaro Valley.
The needs of responding nonprofits are evolving as they help people to safety in back-to-back disasters, assess damage, clean up, prepare for new storms, and recover from storm-related losses and hardships.
We are now and will continue to prioritize support for organizations, such as Community Action Board, Community Bridges, and Second Harvest, that have deep roots and strong experience serving impacted communities, particularly those disproportionately affected by the disaster like seniors, the medically vulnerable, and Spanish and indigenous language speaking communities.
